Dr. Egon Leo Westphal
E.ON Energie AG, Germany

 

Since 2006 Dr. Westphal is Senior Vice President Network at E.ON Energie AG in Munich, Germany.
From 2005 to 2006 he was Member of the Board of Directors for Network and Regulation at Central Networks in Castle Donnington, England. Central Network is responsible for the network operation of 4.8 Million customers in Central England. It was the network subsidiary of E.ON UK and is now part of the PPL Corporation, USA.
From 2000 to 2005 Dr. Westphal was head of the grid economy division at E.ON Netz GmbH in Bayreuth, Germany. E.ON Netz is the network operator of 40% the Transportation grid in Germany. It is now a subsidiary of Tennet B.V., in the Netherlands.
From 1996 to 2000 he held several management positions for the PreussenElektra Netz GmbH & Co. KG in Hannover, Germany. It was the energy subsidiary of VEBA, which was merged with VIAG into E.ON in the year 2000.
Previously, between 1991 and 1996, Dr. Westphal completed his doctoral studies in electrical engineering and worked as an academic employee and project leader at the Institute for Electro-heat at the Hannover University in Germany.

 

Matthias Kurth
President Bundesnetzagentur, Germany

Matthias Kurth was appointed president of the Federal Network Agency in March 2001. The agency is the sector-specific competition authority for electricity, gas, telecommunications, postal and railway markets in Germany including frequency management and digital signature. Mr Kurth joined the agency as Vice President in 2000. Prior he was member of the management of Colt Telecom GmbH as Director Business Development, Law and Regulation. From 1994 to 1999 Mr Kurth worked as State Secretary in the Hesse Ministry of Economics, Transport, Technology and European Affairs. Mr Kurth was member of the Hesse Land Parliament from 1978 to 1994 and worked as lawyer in Hesse. Mr Kurth was representative of the State of Hesse in the Regulatory Council for Posts and Telecommunications, cooperating in framing the Telecommunications Act and he was representative of the State of Hesse in the Committee of the Regions of the European Union, focusing Trans-European Networks, information and communications technology and air transport.

 


Dr. Sandra Krommes
Head of Mobility and Environment, BMW Group, Germany

Ms. Dr. Sandra Krommes studied Environmental Engineering at the TU Berlin and has a Ph.D. degree in engineering. In 1999 she joined the BMW AG and has worked in different responsibilities. In the department M&A, Cooperations, Economics, Mobility and Environment of the Corporate Strategy and Planning Ms. Krommes is in charge of Mobility and Environment.

 

 

 

Dr. Andreas Roß
CEO, NetzDienste Rhein-Main GmbH, Germany

After an apprenticeship in a bank he studied business administration at the University of Cologne and graduated at the Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf (Dr. rer. pol.). He worked 12 years as a management consultant. In June 2006 he changed to NRM NetzDienste Rhein-Main GmbH as managing director. Since July 2009 he is CEO in that company. NRM NetzDienste Rhein-Main GmbH is the joint grid company of Mainova AG, Frankfurt, and Stadtwerke Hanau GmbH.
